Star Trek is a 2009 science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Star Trek earned high critical praise, gaining a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2009 — fifth-highest within the United States — and has become the highest-grossing film in the Star Trek series and is credited by the media as a reboot of the series.

The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 17 in North America, and November 16 in the UK. There are three editions to be released - the one-disc and two-disc standard DVD, and the three-disc Blu-ray version. The latter two promise a host of extras, from bloopers and deleted scenes to a commentary on the score. In Sweden, it will be released on the 7th of October.
