How to Back Up the Main Movie Title Using Any DVD Clone?

 

In this article, we will look at copying a DVD-Video disc to a blank DVD disc including DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW using Any DVD Clone. The resulting DVD will be of very good quality because it will only contain the main feature (movie) of the DVD, and none of the extras to take up space. This guide has instructions right from compressing the DVD to fit on a 4.36GB (4.7) blank DVD disc, to burning it.

You will need to have enough free space for this process. The DVD Shrink output will be around 4.36GB in size and if you plan to rip the DVD contents to your hard drive to speed up the process, it could be as much as 8.5GB extra space. To burn, you obviously need a DVD burner and a blank DVD+/-R(W) disc (DVD-RAM will NOT do!). Any DVD Clone is very fast at compressing, but this process depending on the speed of your computer might take a little while to complete.

Now, let's see how to copy the main movie title using Any DVD Clone:

Step 1. Run Any DVD Clone, and click Open DVD tab to load the DVD.

Step 2. Choose the main movie title.

Generally, the Longest Title (indicated in the Description column) will be the main movie. Therefore, you can uncheck all other DVD titles, and just select the main movie title only to copy.

However, for some DVD movies like Transformers 2, Any DVD Clone may not be able to detect the main movie title correctly, that is to say, the Longest Title may not be the main movie. So, in this case, we need to check out the main movie title with a media player (such as VLC, Mplayer) on the PC.

Take VLC media player for example: after the main movie starts to play, right click on the preview window, and click Playback -->Title, then you can see that the main movie is from which title. (In the below screenshot, Title 2 is the main movie title.)

Step 3. Choose an output option from the Output Device list.

 

Step 4. Click button to start copying the main movie title.
